Towneplace Suites Chandler Fashion Center, Arizona Hotel Review
I stayed at the Towneplace Suites by Marriott in Chandler, Arizona for three nights. I chose this hotel due to its location, price and the fact that it had a kitchen, as I was staying for three nights and preferred to cook my own meals during this particular trip. This was both a business and leisure trip, so I needed space to work on my laptop. In this review of the Towneplace Suites Chandler Fashion Center, we’ll take a closer look at this extended stay hotel and I’ll give you my honest opinion, as always!

Towneplace Suites Chandler Fashion Center: Location
Judging by the name of this hotel, you are to assume it is near the Fashion Center Mall in Chandler, which it is. Although it’s not really within walking distance — you could walk to the mall, but there isn’t great pedestrian access and the roads nearby are extremely busy (and when I stayed, a major construction project was going on).

There’s also a ton of restaurants and other shopping options in the area too, including a Wal-Mart, Target and my favorite — Costco! There’s also a Dutch Bros coffee shop right next door, which you can walk to — it was always extremely busy day and night – the traffic in their drive thru never let up!

Rooms at the Towneplace Suites – Chandler Arizona Fashion Center
Rooms are exactly what you’d expect at a Towneplace Suites. These are the newer rooms which are undoubtedly better than what you’d get at an older Towneplace Suites that hasn’t been renovated.
I had a studio room with a queen sized bed, and full kitchen. There was plenty of space to work, cook and relax. I prefer the one-bedroom rooms at these extended stay hotels, but like always, price will dictate what I chose and I was also traveling solo on this trip. Everything in the room was clean, plenty of outlets for charging all of my electronics and the room was quiet at night. Wifi worked great – had no issues connecting my laptop to my work VPN from here.
I thought prices for rooms here were pretty expensive — I used a free night award from Marriott for one of my nights here. But I also visited in early March, which is during the busy baseball spring training season in Phoenix, and that drives up hotel prices quite a bit.

Amenities at the Towneplace Suites – Chandler Arizona Fashion Center
This hotel has a free breakfast, a fitness center, laundry room and an outdoor pool. There’s also a small market where you can purchase snacks. Free parking is available on-site.

Breakfast – Towneplace Suites Chandler
Standard Marriott fare, which is always terrible. IMO, Marriott has the worst free breakfast of any chain out there and that includes lower-end brands like those in the Choice Hotel range. The eggs are swimming in water, the coffee is lukewarm, the toaster never works right, and they never seem to put out their waffle maker. I swear, did all of the waffle irons get tossed in the trash during COVID and Marriott never bothered to put them out? Where are they hiding? WHY WON’T THEY PUT THEM OUT??? Anyway, breakfast here is just okay. Don’t go into it expecting much. Marriott has totally dropped the ball when it comes to their free breakfast offerings.
When it comes to free food at hotels, nothing beats a Drury Inn. I stayed (and reviewed) at the Phoenix Airport location

Fitness Center
This was just okay as well. They had decent enough equipment but it’s definitely showing its age. I used the treadmill and elliptical machines each day I was here, plus they have a good selection of weights. I will say that Marriott’s lower end properties like a Towneplace Suites often have nicer gyms than other brands of the same value. You usually find the Life Fitness equipment here, which is always welcome in my eyes.

Laundry Room:
I used the laundry room once during my stay and everything was fine. No issues with dryers not drying the clothing. Everything worked as it should and price was reasonable. You will need quarters to operate these machines. One machine was out of order, but no one else was using the faculties when I was there so it was not a big deal.

Pool
The pool is outdoors. I didn’t use it during my stay — it was far too cold outside. And there is no hot tub. Booo!

Would this be good for an extended stay?
I lived in a Residence Inn for a year, so I know what I like in my hotels, especially when it comes to long term stays. While this was fine for me for the three nights I was here, if I was staying longer term, I would pick somewhere else. This Towneplace Suites by Marriott is fine and all, but I simply prefer a Residence Inn, as it was more modern and slightly more upscale. However, if this hotel is in your budget and the location suits you, this wouldn’t be bad at all. In any case, though lower end than a Residence Inn, a Towneplace Suites is miles ahead and much much better than the super low budget extended stay places like a My Place or a WoodSpring.
Towneplace Suites by Marriott Chandler Arizona Fashion Center – Final Thoughts
Overall, decent stay. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and had everything I needed to work, and I liked the location as it was so close to lots of amenities. I would stay here again if needed.
